Course schedule:About This Course
The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is the most globally recognized certification in the information security market. CISSP validates an information security professional’s deep technical and managerial knowledge and experience to effectively design, engineer, and manage the overall security posture of an organization.
The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Training equips you with the expertise to build, manage, and secure enterprise IT environments. Covering the eight domains of the (ISC)² CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK), this course prepares you to design, implement, and oversee security programs that protect critical data and infrastructure.
More than just exam prep, this training validates your ability to balance governance, risk, compliance, and technical defences—skills that make CISSPs among the most respected and highest-paid professionals in cybersecurity.
The course covers various aspects of information security, including security measures, data security, and system security. The curriculum also includes a focus on security architecture, application security, and cryptographic keys. Participants will learn about the ISC2 code of ethics and the CIA triad, as well as the trusted platform module (TPM) 2.0.

FAQs –
- What are the CISSP certification requirements in 2026?
> ISC2 requires five years of paid, cumulative, full time work in two or more of the eight CISSP domains. A four year degree or one approved credential waives one year, bringing it to four. You can sit the exam before you meet the requirement. Experience only gets verified when you submit your certification application after passing.
- Which certifications still qualify for the CISSP experience waiver in 2026?
> ISC2 cut the approved list from roughly 50 credentials to about 25 on April 1, 2026. CEH, CISA, CRISC, and OSCP were removed. CompTIA credentials and CISM remain. The four year degree waiver was untouched. You get one waiver only, so a degree and a certification cannot combine to remove two years.
- Do I need five years of experience to enroll in this course?
> [Confirm your policy.] We built this course for professionals already working in at least two of the eight domains, and you will get the most from it with three or more years of hands on IT or security work. If you are earlier in your career, start with Security+ and come back to CISSP once you have the practical grounding.
- How much does the CISSP course cost, and does it include the exam fee?
> The course fee is [$695] and covers instructor led training across all eight domains. The ISC2 exam fee of $749 is separate and paid directly to ISC2 when you book through Pearson VUE. [Confirm whether a voucher or practice test bundle is included.] After you certify, ISC2 charges a $135 annual maintenance fee.
- Is this course instructor led or self paced, and how many hours should I plan?
> This is an instructor led course, not a recorded library. [Confirm total hours, weekday or weekend schedule, and whether sessions are recorded.] Plan on personal study outside class as well. Most candidates need 300 to 500 hours total, though 150 to 250 is realistic if you already work daily in two or three domains.
- What are the eight CISSP domains and their exam weights?
> The outline effective April 15, 2024 still applies in 2026. Security and Risk Management 16%, Asset Security 10%, Security Architecture and Engineering 13%, Communication and Network Security 13%, Identity and Access Management 13%, Security Assessment and Testing 12%, Security Operations 13%, Software Development Security 10%. Any source showing Domain 1 at 15% is outdated.
- What is the CISSP exam format and passing score?
> The English exam runs as a Computerized Adaptive Test through Pearson VUE. You answer 125 to 150 items in a 3 hour window and need 700 out of 1000 points to pass. Question types include standard multiple choice plus drag and drop and hotspot items. Retakes cost the full $749.
- Does CCS Learning Academy help with job placement after the CISSP course?
> [Confirm CISSP eligibility.] This course qualifies for our Learn and Earn Program. If CCS Global Tech’s Placement Division places you in a role, you receive a tuition refund of up to 50%. You also get job placement assistance for 12 months after you complete the course. Call 858-208-4141 or email sales@ccslearningacademy.com for details.
- Is CISSP worth it in 2026?
> US median pay for CISSP holders in 2026 sits near $148,000 to $151,000, with senior architect and director roles above $180,000. ISC2 workforce data shows certified professionals earning roughly a third more than uncertified peers in comparable roles. Most candidates recover the full cost of training and exam within 12 to 18 months.
- Does CISSP meet DoD 8140 and 8570 requirements?
> Yes. CISSP satisfied IAT Level III and IAM Levels II and III under the old 8570 baseline and continues to qualify personnel under DoD 8140. ISC2 reports CISSP maps to 44% of approved work roles across five of the seven DCWF workforce elements. Confirm your specific work role in the matrix at public.cyber.mil.
